Richie Stanaway to join PremiAir Nulon Racing from 2025

PremiAir Nulon Racing is pleased to announce that Richie Stanaway will join its team as a full-time driver alongside Jimmy Golding for the 2025 season.

Stanaway will replace incumbent driver Tim Slade, who announced his retirement from full-time competition recently.

Team boss Peter Xiberras said he was looking forward to what Stanaway will bring to his emerging outfit – which recently celebrated its first podium at none other than the prestigious Sandown 500 just weeks ago.

While Stanaway was forced out of the Sandown 500 with an engine failure, he did plenty across the weekend to show that he has exceptional racecraft behind the wheel.

“There is no doubting Richie is exceptionally talented – you don’t have a CV like his or win the Bathurst 1000 by accident after all – and while he was forced to endure an early exit at Sandown this year, it was clear that he has what it takes, especially when the weather gods are against you,” Xiberras said.

“We look forward to having Richie join our team alongside Jimmy Golding and seeing what we can achieve together.”

We look forward to continuing to work with him and Jimmy as we all look to finish out the current season in the best way possible.”

32 year old Stanaway made his Supercars debut as part of a Tickford Racing’s Super Black Racing entry at the 2016 Sandown 500, before joining with Cam Waters to win the 2017 running of the event.

A full-time drive with Tickford beckoned for 2018, before a switch to Garry Rogers Motorsport for 2019 – the team’s last in the sport. After two tricky seasons, he would announce his early retirement from the sport at the conclusion of 2019, before an Erebus Motorsport wildcard entry for the 2022 Bathurst 1000 alongside Greg Murphy re-lit his passion for Supercars, leading to a Sandown 500 3rd place and Bathurst 1000 victory with Shane van Gisbergen the next year before joining Penrite racing in 2024. To date this season he has secured a best result of fourth at the season-opening Bathurst 500 – one of five top ten results for the year.

Alongside his endurance race victories in Supercars, the ex-Aston Martin factory driver who is one-to-beat in wet conditions has plenty of other accolades to his name – an accomplished motorcross racer before switching to circuit racing, Stanaway was a 2015 GP2 race winner, the 2011 German Formula 3 Champion, the 2010 German Formula Masters Champion and the 2008/2009 New Zealand Formula Ford Champion.
